The National Creative Research Initiative Center for Smart Supramolecules (CSS), supported by Creative Research Initiatives (CRI) program of the Korean Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) , was established in 1997 to develop new supramolecular assemblies with desired structures, properties and functions by utilizing the principles of molecular recognition and self assembly. Emphasis is placed on the supramolecular systems that can provide the operating principles of molecular switch, molecular memory, and sensor.

Supramolecular chemistry towards new 'smart' materials

กก

Supramolecular chemistry is the chemistry of weak intermolecular interactions such as hydrogen bonding, electrostatic interaction, and van der Waals interaction, etc. Two keywords in supramolecular chemistry are recognition and self assembly. One goal in this field of study is to understand how biological molecules recognize each other and assemble into ... Detailed Information
